With a degree in political science from the University of Akron, 8 years in comedy and improvisation, and a passion for positive psychology, David Horning is a leadership speaker who packs his programs with the laughs that will turn your event, and your perspective of leadership, on their heads.
He lived in New York City, studying comedy while performing around the city, and producing “Laundry Day,” a sketch comedy show selected for the 2014 New York Comedy Festival. After being floored by the fact that only 1 in 3 people are engaged by their work, David decided to leave New York to set out on a mission to disrupt workplace culture as a leadership speaker. His programs have brought laughter, inspiration, and learning to nonprofits, colleges, and businesses across the country from Florida, to Oregon, to his home state of Ohio.
David’s mission is to transform workplaces by inspiring culture shifts that make work more meaningful, more human, and more fun so that both leaders and employees alike can be more creative and productive. He continues to perform stand-up comedy wherever his work takes him while producing live comedy shows in Cleveland to help fellow comedians hone their craft with stage time. His mission to find the humor in everything has culminated in a new podcast titled, "You Can't Laugh At That," which explores elements of stand-up comedy to discover perspectives that can make even the most offensive or cliche topics funny.
